The Golden Spike Empire includes Weber, Davis, Morgan and Box Elder counties in the northern portion of the state. Things to see and do in this area may include: Antelope Island State Park in the Great Salt Lake, Eccles Dinosaur Gardens of the Ogden River Parkway in Ogden and the Golden Spike National Historic Site where the first transcontinental railroad was finished in 1869. Also to be seen are Lagoon Amusement Park and pioneer village along with the adjacent water park, The Ogden Canyon Scenic Byway and Pineview Reservoir, Farmington Bay Waterfowl Management Area with hundreds of species of shore, wading and song birds, The Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge west of Brigham City and the slopes of Snow Basin Ski Area, as well as Powder Mountain and Nordic Valley ski areas. Don_t forget the largest buffalo herd in the US at Antelope Island State Park.

Included in Bridgerland is the Bear Lake Region in northeast Utah. Rich County is in this area. Cache County is also in this area. You'll want to see it all in Bridgerland including Jenson Historical Farm, The Sherwood Hills Resort with summer western entertainment, The Utah Festival Opera Company's summer season, Bear Lake State Park, Snowmobiling in the famous Utah "Powder" snow and much, much more.

The state capital area is in this region, including the surrounding areas with their great skiing. Salt Lake County makes up this area. Visit the State Capitol and other historic buildings. Mormon Temple Square and the Tabernacle Choir are must sees. The Utah Museum of Natural History as well as all-season mountain resorts, the Bonneville Salt Flats, the NBA Utah Jazz in the Delta Center, the Bingham Canyon Copper Mine, one of the world's largest open-air excavations and This is the Place State Park and Old Deseret Village.

Included in Mountainland are Summit County, Utah County and Wasatch County. This is the northern Utah-Great Basin area of Utah with Wasatch Front cities and the Rocky Mountain Province. See Park City, a resort town with year-round recreation, the Utah Winter Sports Park, The Museum of Art at Brigham Young University in Provo, Timpanogos Cave National Monument, Deer Creek and Jordanelle Reservoirs, Sundance Resort with its Sundance Film Festival, and the Springville Art museum. Spend hours walking around BYU in Provo on its beautiful campus.

Daggett, Duchesne and Uintah Counties are in this area. A big tourist draw of the area is Flaming Gorge. In northeastern Utah where you can't miss Flaming Gorge/Uintas Scenic Byway. Dinosaur National Monument is also here where more than 1,600 dinosaur bones have been found. Float down the Green River or hike in the High Uintas Wilderness area. Visit the Vernal Field House of Natural History and Dinosaur Gardens or the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum in Vernal or enjoy some plain "ole" Cowboy adventures at the many guest ranches in the Uinta Basin.

This area is the central and west-central areas of Utah with Millard County and Beaver County. Visit Capitol Reef National Park as well as Fish Lake, the Paiute ATV Trail, Fish Springs National Wildlife Refuge, the Tintic Silver Mining Museum in Eureka, Spring City where the entire town is on the national historic register, the Mormon Miracle Pageant each summer in manti, Big Rock Candy Mountain and the old Territorial statehouse in Fillmore.

Emery County and Carbon County are included in Castle Country which is also in Central Utah. Try the Nine Mile Canyon, a BLM National Scenic Backcountry Byway, with pictographs and petroglyphs on the canyon walls. Visit College of Eastern Utah and its Prehistoric Museum, Golden Valley State park, the Huntington Canyon Scenic Byway and the San Rafael Swell with its geologic history.

This is southwestern Utah with Zion and Bryce National Parks. Ski and hike at Brian Head resort. Visit Cedar Breaks National Monument, pioneer homes in St. George, the Paunsaguant Wildlife Museum in Panguitch, the Kodachrome Basin State Park, Lake Powell, Snow Canyon State Park. Be sure to visit "Utah!," a musical drama in Ivins and also the Utah Shakespearean Festival in Cedar City each summer.

Canyonlands
This southeastern Utah region includes Grand
County and San
Juan County and includes many attractions such as: Arches National Park,
Canyonlands National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, Hovenweep National Monument,
Natural Bridges National Monument, and Rainbow Bridge National Monument. Don't
forget lake Powell with its miles of shoreline and the many other recreational
facilities in the region.
